It began with a suggestion from Mr Vince...
'...wanted to ask if you were still going to do the drawing activities on the forum. You could send out a general email to everyone on the memberslist or start a thread asking if people would be interested. As far as a first activity, maybe something for an upcoming movie like Episode 3 or Batman Begins.
Talk to ya laters,
-Vince- "
We begin with STAR WARS! (Any Episode or montage?)
This is an open ended invitation to post ART on the SUBJECT. No deadlines. No prizes. All for FUN!
(added 7:14 AM) Just to make this interesting, I would like to see your version of a Jedi and/or Sith-or droid & Bounty Hunter.
So let'er RIP.
Thank You.
G. Gerald Garcia

How's about the 20th? the day after Episode III comes out? I'm sure by then most of us will have seen it and will be chock full of so much sleep deprived, ceffein abused inspiration that anything could happen... 'course that may just be me.

Here's a quick Han Solo in Jaime Hewlett style. The hair ended up being too asian and I forgot the shine on his boots. Oh, well! As far as deadlines, I'd suggest running the Star Wars thread for May and do another one starting June 1st. I don't think we need to lock-out a thread once the new theme comes along, you can even submit after the theme is over. I'm sure once the ball gets rolling, we'll see some art from everyone on all kinds of things. In fact, it'd be a cool stipulation to have every post in this thread include an appropriately themed picture. Even if you want to post commentary or questions, you have to have a picture. Yeah! I like the sound of that. What do you think? This is good practice people! Get drawing! or as the English say, get drawring, bloke! -Vince-

FUN idea! This isn't a Jedi or bounty hunter, but it IS a dashing & debonair Imperial pilot. Because they are my fave characters (more because of that wicked TIE Fighter game for the PC than any role they had in the movies).

I know I said "NO DEADLINE", but it sounds like some people need it. End of May it is, but if there are late comers...there is room. A new topic will be started in June. This is my quick experiment. Brush pen drawing-scanned and converted to BMP greyscale. Did the tones. Convert to PSD-splash some colors. Send to Photo edit-play with color more. Stop. Here's what I got. Thanks. GarSeeYa!!!

Fiona, Gerald, top notch work! Keep 'em coming. Here's some really quick grevious sketches I did. I really like the Genndy Tartokofsky version of him because of all the cool shapes and gestures. The live action version pales in comparison.

Starting to wish I got a photo of that Anakin sketch I did for a kid on FCBD...
...actually, no I'm not. It'd look pretty sad, compared to the work everyone else is showing...

You weenies, I'd have more respect for you if you at least tried instead of giving up so easily. There's nothing at stake, its good practice, and you've got till the end of the month, go get drawing! Here's a quick Asajj Ventress done with markers. I didn't get the lightsaber effect to work right though.

Now, I haven't seen any of the "new" ones, and the thing that stuck with me from the old ones was what a whiny actor Mark Hamill was..."but uncle ben!!"...yech. so, here ya go....

Did you just watch Gremlins? That looks like a Gremlin ... but in any case ... that pic is teh WIN!
It says so much about Star Wars ... what it was and what it is now ... Lucas with his hand up Yoda's ass ...

Lucas with his hand up Yoda's ass ... Mwehehehe... good call. I've always associated the two for some reason and there actually IS a Gizmo drawn to the right of this sketch... but it's not particularly suitable for this forum Was instead aiming for the slightly inbred and knobby look, hence the c@ckeye look and the knobby ears. Though... if I stay awake long enough, I might just end up adding a white mowhawk on yoda's head.
