I feel jealous of all the artists getting feedback on their work, so here's me, crying out for attention...
I have a couple of reasons why the following project, which was a very dear concept to me for a couple of months, is not worth pursuing right now, even though I'd have loved to write it. Can you guess what they are? Can you think of some that I didn't? Or am I out of my mind (well, that's a given, but you know what I mean) and should be developing it after all?
YOU BE THE JUDGE!

THE NIGHT BEAT
Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula’s Daughter, and a Teenage Werewolf are cops who keep the streets safe from every other pulp fiction and B-Movie monster that haunts their city.
Genre: B-Movie horror/comedy in the tradition of Men In Black
Spine: To save her humanity, a vampire must sacrifice her immortal soul to the dark forces that hold it hostage.
A gang of telepathic, white-haired punks trying to take over the rackets in the Village…a ten-story lizard vandalizing the financial district…a scar-faced pervert offing a neighbourhood’s kids in their dreams… It’s a typical week in the Bizarre Occurrence/Offender Squad: plenty ugly. But it’s about to get uglier still for Lieutenant-Detective Frank Karloff and his colleagues, Xtina Stoker and Rex Chaney.
Recurring zombie outbreaks lead the Squad to believe Lovecraft’s Elder Gods are trying to break into the Earth Plane. Again.
But this time, Cthulhu and its pals have an ace-in-the-hole the cops don’t know about. They aren’t relying on the usual assortment of mentally deficient inbred hicks to bring them over; instead they’ve recruited Viraj, the two thousand-year-old mummy who taught Karloff everything he knows.
Viraj has something Xtina wants very much: her soul, something she thought was irrevocably lost when she became a vampire. To become human again, all she has to do is betray her friends. Sure, the end result will be Hell on Earth, but Xtina half-believes Hell’s there already…<br>
Ultimately, Xtina’s loyalty wins out over her desire to walk in the sunlight again. Using her as an inside man, the Squad sets up a sting that stymies the Elders’ latest efforts to expand their territory, and puts Viraj under wraps once and for all.
