Okay, bear with me as I explain. This whole BBQ thing has gotten pretty out of hand. A lack of solid planning and forsight has kinda rubbed it out of the picture. That and I influenced a postponement.
I was talking with some of the VA guys, we're planning to just wing a BBQ on Saturday. The weather wizards are still predicting scattered showers on Saturday, but we'll see Saturday morning how the day is shaping up.
We're thinking of a lazy afternoon BBQ, so we'll gather at 2 and just cook away and shoot the breeze till whenever.
If you want to throw caution into the wind and come out to join us, then by all means. We'd like names and numbers to call in case the weather looks pretty bad. If the weather's dodgy, then we'll probably head over to Comickazi and chill.
Let me know what you think.

I'm all for it ... I was up for the other BBq as well, I just said "if that's how the weather is going to be" ... but it's really hard to say with this City.
I think Gord and I were going to do something anyways since he took the day off already.
We should have just stuck with the MIC BBQ and wung it ... is that a word?
Only thing is, we have families ... wouldn't want to cramp the VA style. Where would this take place?
I was hoping for no postponement ... I guess I shouldn't have said anything, I was just going by what was being said about the weather ... but as it gets closer, I've also heard it could be okay.

Oh yeah! We're just going to go to Bowness as originally planned. Ledsoul said it seemed to have dried up since the last rain. We totally should have winged the BBQ, but no, me and other people had to puss out. Not this time, we wait till the bitter end. As far as families go, bring 'em on down. Just bring enough food is all we ask. Meat for yourselves and a little something else for everyone oughta do it.

This sounds more like the BBq is still on ... sorta ... I guess ...
k, we'll come down and tough it.
I think we all crumbled ... we should stick with our guns

Remember, this is all dependent on the weather. I've seen reports listing it as either sunny, cloudy, or scattered showers. I guess we'll have to wait and see Saturday morning for the official go ahead.

Okay, we're going to be there at 2 getting a spot saved and whatnot and we're going to start cooking at 4, 4:30.
Oh, and so far only Chris and family seem interested, but if any of you show up anyway, we won't stop you.

If we're there, you'll see a few kids playing .... and a bunch of guys with pale skin due to lack of sunlight.
we're all tall and handsome ... it'll look like a role call for Manhunt.
maybe it would be easier for you (ledsoul) to do or describe something ... we all know what eachother looks like ... I think I'll wear my Green Lantern t-shirt ...

I don't think I could make a Maple Ink banner in time for tomorrow, seeing as most print shops are closed today. I can tell you that IF the BBQ is still on, we'll get there around 2 to save a spot and a firepit, and then we start cooking at 4. We'll be hacksacking and snacking and possible sketchbook exchanging before the foodness, so by all means, come early. I got a funny feeling most people will show up after 5 anyway. If you want to find us, and have a cell phone, we can give you one of our numbers to call and get a wave and here's a handy pic of most of the VA members. Remember, if its raining or there's thunderous black clouds everywhere, then its off and we'll announce on the forum. Otherwise, we're coming! Gun's blazing with or without any of you!

I'll be there.
So you take the #1 bus, and then get off at the gates to the park? Okay.
And to all my fellow comic book geeks and mosquitoes: I'd appreciate it if you tried not to suck my blood.

Plans indeed my dear. Plans indeed.
In an effort to sully our good names, the Vicious Ambitious BBQ is cancelled. The weather cleared up for a while there, but there's a storm rolling in from the north. If we can't get a decent fire going in a wet Bowness park, when what's the point?
Sorry again, but this was weather permitting. If any of you want to still go, we won't even try to stop you.
That is all.
Until next time.

So the BBQ is cancelled? Well, if we decide to go ahead with it again, let me know, and I'll try to rush down there before its cancelled again, heh heh.
I'll head over to Comic-Kazi. See you (the general "you", not "you" specifically) there!

Just out of curiosity, did anybody go to Bowness today? And how was it?

I can't speak for everyone, but I saw most people at the mall. Then Gord (remandcentre) and I had an at-home BBQ ... judging by the weather, we could have probably gotten away with a BBQ at Bowness, but it was a bit dodgy at times. But overall there were maybe 2 showers at the most and they were short.
