Hello Everyperson,
I'm Kelly, an illustrator and designer from Calgary.
Gerald directed me here, and I'm trying to get a feel for what this place is about, what it's for, and what I can do here.
It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Internet Person, and I hope that we can be friends.
K.

Welcome Kelly.
I'm the resident art jerk who critiques work and makes fun of wet kittens.
j/k ... I'm not a jerk
but you better hide your kittens if they had an encounter with H2O
Just have a seat over the -- no NO that's Mr Nick's chair .... over THERE
don't mind me, I just woke up.

Hey Kelly T!
Good to have you here!
Last time we talked, you mentioned a Tim Sale radio interview. Do you think that session is available to our members? If you have a link or other info to that show, please share it with us.
I would also like to see some of your work posted.
Thanks.
GarSeeYa!!!

Thank you for the words of hello numbering greater than one! Gerald- I'm a massive fan of Tim Sale, and I'm very proud of the relationship I've built with him over the years. When he was interviewed by Fanboy Radio last month, I was proud to call in. The show can be downloaded from www.fanboyradio.com ... all you need is a BitPass account and you can get it for about $.75. Tim was on show #226. Even if you're not a Tim Sale fan, there's plenty of great interviews on there with guys like Scott Kurtz, Mark Millar, Stan Lee, and Brian Bendis. Fiona; are you that charming girl I met at the Red & White Club? My cards are indeed festooned with alligators... one of the few things I did at ACAD I'm still happy with! Now, what do we do on these boards? I'm still curious. K.

I wasn't at the Red & White club, but I work at Comic-kazi and your card is floating around the store.

Ah, yes.
Well, if you work at ComicKazi you're doubtlessly charming anyway. Love your work, by the by.
All my best, Kelly

Heh, I was in VC back in '99 Unfortunately that was bad timing in my life (long story.. meh)
It was a good time in anycase, I enjoyed the people I worked with and should think many of them are doing well in their work now.

I miss VC, but what I really miss right now is the time to sit down and draw things. I'm so busy with all my jobs (I've got two right now, with a third part-time) that I don't have time to spit.
Peace, Kelly

Please tell me that after surviving VC you at least scored a good graphics or illustrative job position.

Nope, sorry.
I DO work part-time in the art department of a garment-printing company (a harsh mistress, the garment-printing industry is) but the body of my art-related business (corporate illustration, comics, caricaturing) comes from my own industrious nature.
Really, if you want to do something, you have to do it. Everybody else is too wrapped up in their own struggles to fight your battles for you, mate.
How have you found it, internet people?
Best, Kelly
