Temp,
Overall this this is the strongest sequential work I have seen from you. The Kade white figure is an interesting effect-just wondering how the Colourist will handle it?
Will Arcana solicit this book on their own, or is this part of a bigger "Multi Studio Book?"
So deadlines for INKS will be July 2nd? Just in time for you make it for the BBQ?...if you miss out, that's the way it goes. We won't give you a hard time.
Thanks for showing us the work and keep us posted.

Your underlying structure is quite good. I look forward to seeing how the inks flesh this out.

Just because YOU have no socail life doesn't mean.... okay you're right, I have no social life.... but I WAS planning on getting one... right after this deadline! oh yeah!
Thanks Ger, I like to think I improve with every piece I do... hopefully that will continue. I remember when I went to the comicon in San Diego, the guys at the Dark Horse portfolio review told me two things which I took to heart:
1) Draw what you hate... If you draw something that is difficult and it leaves you frustrated and whining, you'll you you've challeneged yourself and will ultimately improve with every panel. (well that's for darn sure, I HATE drawing crowds. I HATE IT!)
2) Draw what you want... Sounds kind of contraditory to the first one I suppose... but really, if you don't want to draw superhero comics, why force yourself to draw them just to get a job with some company that will make you draw them forever? you'll never be happy. I'm glad Egg wanted me to do a fantasy story, I wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly as much otherwise.
(and I suppose I also learned 3 things... the third thing being "Work on your backgrounds")

I'm not too sure on the publication details yet.
From what I gathered it will be some kind of Assorted company publication book like the "Censorship sucks" books, or the "Even more Fund" anthologies.
There will be no color, it will be a black and white printing. Most of the premise of the script was to have a white-on-white negative space appearance, so you could see very little of Kade's form (except for his hair and tattoos) against the white snow.

Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.
It's an organisation that helps fund legal battles for Comic creators such as Copyright laws and freedom of speech.

Not just creators, but basically anyone involved in the business of comics. Retailers included.
Including the one retailer in the US who was arrested for -- get this -- selling an adult rated comic to.. you'd never guess!....
... an adult.

For what it's worth, the CBLDF is for Americans. The Canadian Fund is the Comic Legends Legal Defense Fund, named for a (now defunct) shop in Calgary that was charged with selling obscene materials (ie, comics) back in the late 80s. I'm currently one of the fund's administrators. Paul Stockton in Toronto is the other.
The CLLDF published out two TRUE NORTH comic anthologies and a Cerebus poster as fundraising projects. To date, Comic Legends has been the only case we've seen through, though the Fund has given a donation to Little Sister's bookstore in Vancouver in their current fight against Canada Customs. We've been pretty quiet in recent years because no Canadians have needed to ask for help (and Canadian calls to the US Fund get sent my way...) That said, there is a substantial war chest at the ready, should any Canadian retailer, publisher or creator need help (knock wood).
