Seen Fantastic Four, yet? Don't bother.
I shared this film with about ten other people at the Friday evening showing near me. I wondered how it could be this dead a week after the movie came out.
Then I saw the movie.
Needless to say...It was directed like a 'made for tv movie', was entirely miscast, had a lame plot, and tried miserably to be hip in the process. Even the special effects seemed bad at times.
Marvel should just slow down and take time on each project instead of trying to do so many.
Take a note from DC who waited for the right director and came out with the best superhero movie (ever) the same summer as the not so fantastic four...

Aw, that's too bad. I feel an absurd sort of loyalty to the FF (they were my favourite when I was a kid) and I really wanted the movie to be good...

It honestly looked bad from the first small trailer I saw of it. Nothing changed my view ... it is disapointing.
Rik, you must have missed out on last year when DC treated us to Catwoman ... I don't know how many tips should be taken from them.

Yeah, when I first saw the trailer for it, it looked like X-men meets Fast and the Furious.
When I actually saw the film, it was pretty boring. Lame humor, no logic, and hardly any action. The trailer seemed to show all the best bits. The plot was all over the place, and it was definately badly cast. I was a Spider-Maniac as a kid, so I never had a nostaglic feel for this flick.
The movie broke the $100 million mark, so a sequel's probably being pitched right now. Who knows, with all the origin stuff out of the way, maybe the next one will have some much needed action. Enter Danny Devito as the Moleman!

Catwoman? Hmmm. Interesting point. However, is Catwoman really a super hero? I seem to remember her being in Batman's rogue's gallery. Besides, I think that crappy film was already in development before even Blade came out. Halle Berry was a hot property last year and when she expressed interest, the movie got made. Catwoman got made in the spirit of Steel with Shaq. Dreadful. I doubt WB even were aware of how bad Catwoman's script was as it was being developed. It was a low profile movie with Halle being the only reason why it was distributed theatrically.
Catwoman is not exactly what I would consider a superhero movie, anyway. Superman, Batman, Green Lantern,The Flash, Wonder woman, Hawkman, and Green Arrow are. Supes has Brian Singer, Batman has Christopher Nolan, and Wonder Woman has Joss Whedon.
I think DC is doing just fine.
