Calgary Shaw Cable- will be running info about the 24HC event starting tomorrow. Cameras may follow on Saturday. Happy Harbour Comics had an article in THE EDMONTON SUN. Here's my little BLURB on the 24HC home page. Then Jays from Happy Harbour Comics Edmonton. Calgary's 24HC event will be covered in the Herald's REAL LIFE section,on Friday by Robin Summerfield.

In addition to the article in the Sun, Access Television is sending a videographer from CareersTV/BookTelevision over to interview me and Tiina this afternoon about the 24 Hour Comic Challenge and our "Off The Beaten Path" career choices. The owner of Happy Harbour tells me they're going to have a camera on someone for the entire 24 hours, taking a shot every thirty seconds.
Tomorrow, someone from CBC Radio is coming by to interview Tiina, to get a female perspective on the event, and it sounds like they're going to be doing live feeds from Happy Harbour, too.
The things we do for comics, huh?
And by that, I mean, clean the house, not do interviews.

Hey Andrew,
Sometimes we do too much for comics, like get no sleep on a regular basis. See if you can get me a copy of the radio interview?
Say hello to Christine Chomiak for me. I originally contacted her for coverage on ZED/CBC. Hopefully this will lead to more local news spots on the event.
I have also invited film makers to document 24HC as a short film project. No takers yet...I may have to get my camera out. Get footage for next year.
Thanks.
G.

Wow, this is certainly turning out to be a far bigger event than I first thought. I originally figured it would just be a group of less than 10 all huddled in a back room somewhere, heh heh.
Hopefully there won't be TOO many television crews, because I ain't going to be too beautiful by Sunday morning, heh heh.

We should have a before and after group shot...post it on the board.
If some of us take pictures, we should have a photo album set up here.
I'll bring one and a video camera too.
Thanks.
GGG.

Everyone has to do a 'Before' and 'After' shot. So we can see the vigor and youth at the beginning, and then the beard stubble, red eyes and general look of exhaustion afterwards.

...interview me and Tiina this afternoon about the 24 Hour Comic Challenge and our "Off The Beaten Path" career choices. Hey, Andrew, that's great! Make sure to show them some of your wedding photos so they can get a real taste of the "Off the Beaten Path" part! Cheers! -Derek

There's an article in today's Calgary Herald as well, in the "Real Life" section. Along with a big goofy picture of myself.

Along with a big goofy picture of myself. Fiona, Better that its your picture than mine. I still have to get a copy. Weird thing though, I got a phone call tonight from Vancouver, from an Artists who wants to participate in 24HCD.She called information and asked for my number in Calgary, she got me the first try.She thought it was "fate" that she should enter this challenge. Apparently, I gave her more information than the article did. "There was no mention of the 24HCD website", she said.So she called me. Things that make you go HHMMM?( Old Arsenio Show) GGG.

Tiina's various interviews with CBC Radio should be airing tomorrow (Thursday) morning on CBC 1, the AM station. I'll update when I've got a specific time.
