Hey folks, here's an entry for the Radioactive City Forums June/July contest. I dunno if cross-forum pimping is allowed, but it's a really cool contest where you amalgamate two characters from different comic book labels. There are prizes, so get on board. Here's my first entry, Big Barda and Black Widow. It's the first thing I've drawn all week. Since I started my new job, its been tough drawing for myself. So yeah, her head's a little big and her pose is pretty boring, but I decided to share anyway. Enjoy, or don't.

Man that is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sweet Vinny!
A definant dynamic pose would help the pic but other than that, it's wicked!!

I'm having troubles figuring just where the main focal point ought to be, given the size of the image on my screen... I would have to guess around the waist? In any case, her neck is pretty long and the arm is quite thick, especially in comparison to the thighs.
That having been said - I think the general mood and message behind her stance is quite compelling, regardless of the anatomical problems. She's a solid, imposing lass, and you've portrayed that nicely!

On a side note Vince, your name at the bottom of the picture looks like something that would be there "In Memoriam"

Thanks Florence, I'll probably end up doing another pic of her for my official, official entry. I'm glad you thought I captured her stature though and I'll work on those little anatomical oversights as well.
Chris, yeah, good point, I oughta change that before people find out my ghost is posting for me.

I like the stance as well, although a bit more definition/sculpting on the hips would be nice. But yeah, her expression is great, and I like the bold blocky style. She looks like a cool and credible character, not just two obvious ones shoved together in a really goofy way (ie, current state of Helektra). Way to set the bar up nice and high.

Way to set the bar up nice and high. Aw, make a guy feel talented. Thanks, I'll most likely get another pic done for Black Barda. This is really was to just get the concept on paper and see how the mashing of costumes would work out. I promise more hips and a better pose! I can't wait too see your Hellektra, mostly because I can't get enough of your style and because I want to draw Hellektra as well. Laters, -Vince-

I love your bold contrasts with the black and white. Nice work. She has nice boots. yeah... I like her boots. I would have been tempted to make her head smaller though.
